Trip Information 

•Recreation & Parks Department will need name, date of birth, address, phone number, and emergency number of each person registering for a trip.

•Trip return times are approximate and may change due to unforeseen circumstances and traffic.

•Refunds for trips may vary due to non-refundable tickets or fees. Refund requests made prior to the registration deadline of the trip will be cheerfully given less a 5% refund fee. Cancellations made by Recreation & Parks are not subject to the 5% refund fee. Online transaction fees are non-refundable.

•Nothing kills a good trip quicker than waiting until the last minute to register! Please sign up early or the trip that you want may have to be cancelled.

•Credit/debit card transactions are processed through Active Network, LLC.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Los Angeles Kings

Come out and see the Chicago Blackhawks as they face off against the Los Angeles Kings at the United Center and enjoy the pre-game show as well.  300 level seating. There is limited seating available and tickets are expected to sell out, so register early. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. School Bus transportation is provided. Titanic Survivor "Violet Jessop" at The Jacob Henry Mansion Estate

"Miss Unsinkable" Leslie Goddard, Ph.D., portrays Violet Jessop, a stewardess who survived the sinkings of the RMS Titanic and the HMHS Britannic (the Titanic's sister ship).  She tells unforgettable stories of the tragedies and gives a fascinating glimpse at life behind-the-scenes on the most glamorous luxury liners of their day.  Prior to the event, take a tour of the Jacob Henry Mansion, boasting over 40 rooms with a delightful blend of past and present.

1893 World’s Fair 

Come join us and take a close look at one of the most important events in Chicago History, the 1893 World's Fair also known as the Columbian Exposition. With the aid of visual guides, we will explore the famous Midway and main buildings in Jackson Park. You will hear the stories behind Daniel Burnham, Frank Lloyd Wright, Buffalo Bill Cody, HH Holmes (Devil in the White City) and many others. Tour will have a restroom break at the University of Chicago campus and stops in Jackson Park.  

Lunch will be at Piccolo Mondo and will consist of salad, Pasta Duet (a dish of meat ravioli and spaghetti with meat sauce served with two meatballs), mini cannolis and coffee or soft drinks. Motor coach transportation. Registration deadline: March 26.

Memphis The Musical 

From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, comes the Tony Award winning Best Musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Inspired by actual events, Memphis is the story of a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves is filled with laughter, soaring emotion and a roof-raising musical score by David Bryan of the band Bon Jovi. The show will take place at the Ruth Page Theatre for the Arts.  

Prior to the show we will be dining at Ditkas where we will have salad, your choice of Macadamia Nut Crusted Tilapia, Chicken Piccata or Fusilli Calabrese with Raspberry Sorbet for dessert.
