For the past several years the Planning and Zoning Commission and Park Forest staff members have worked with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to draft a comprehensive revision to the Village's zoning, subdivision, and stormwater management ordinances. These ordinances control the manner in which land in the Village is used, and how it can be subdivided to create new development parcels.A draft of the complete Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) – zoning and subdivision elements - is now available for review.Also view the Homes for a Changing Region Plan. The Village will be conducting a series of public meetings to provide residents, businesses, and other property owners the opportunity to comment on the draft.

These meetings will be conducted in an open house fashion during the time period specified above. The revised Zoning Map will be available for review, and more detailed information regarding the draft Ordinance will be distributed.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to conduct a public hearing on the draft Ordinance and Zoning Map at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Village Hall Board Conference Room. The Board will consider adoption of the Ordinance at their meetings at the end of November and in December.
A copy of the draft Unified Development Ordinance can be found on the Village’s website, at villageofparkforest.com, under the Economic Development and Planning tab. Copies of the Ordinance can also be reviewed in the Economic Development and Planning offices (located on the second floor of Village Hall) and in the Park Forest Public Library.
