Board approves electronics recycling agreement with Homewood Disposal

Park Forest board members on Jan. 16 approved a measure that now allows residents to place electrics at the curb on garbage day for pick-up by Homewood Disposal at no extra charge.

To have electronics picked up at your home, residents should review the below:

  1. Call 708-798-1004 or visit to schedule your e-waste pick-up.
  2. Place your scheduled electronics at the curb on garbage day (Tuesday).
  3. A separate truck picks up electronics.

    • Minimum of 5 electronic items or 1 TV/Monitor per scheduled pick-up.
    • Maximum of 2 TVs/Monitors per year, per address.
    • This program is for single-family homes serviced through the Village Municipal Contract.

As a reminder to residents, disposing of electronics with household garbage was made illegal Jan. 1, 2012.
